Aaron Rhyne

Video and projection designer Aaron Rhyne is a two-time Drama Desk Award winner for his work on Broadway’s A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder and Anastasia, for which he also earned an Outer Critics Circle Award. His designs have been seen on stages around the world in more than 100 productions of musicals, plays, operas and dance performances.
His many Broadway credits also include For Colored Girls…, The Sound Inside (Outer Critics Circle Award) and Bonnie and Clyde. His Off-Broadway credits include The Way She Spoke (Audible); This Ain’t No Disco (Atlantic); Absolute Brightness… (Westside); Bootycandy (Playwrights Horizons); Appropriate (Signature); Working (59E59); Water By the Spoonful; Lonely, I’m Not; The Blue Flower; All New People (Second Stage); Wild With Happy (The Public, Drama Desk nomination); and Graceland (Lincoln Center). Regional theater work includes projects at Alley Theatre, Arena Stage, Asolo Rep, Bard Summerscape, Bay Street, Berkley Rep, Broadway in Chicago, Ford’s Theatre, Geffen Playhouse, Hartford Stage, Huntington, La Jolla Playhouse, Maltz-Jupiter, New York Stage and Film, The Old Globe, The Wallace, Theatre Aspen, TUTS, Williamstown and Shakespeare Theatre.
Rhyne’s opera credits include The Thirteenth Child (Santa Fe Opera), The Ghosts of Versailles (LA Opera), La Traviata (Wolftrap) and Florencia en el Amazonas (Florida Grand, Opera Colorado). His projection designs for ballet include Septime Webre’s The Wizard of Oz and The Sun Also Rises for the Washington Ballet.
He has also worked on numerous projects for Disney including Frozen (Disneyland), Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Tangled (Disney Cruise Line), among many others. He also did the projection design for the Netflix comedy special Hasan Minhaj: The King’s Jester.
