2022 Lucille Lortel Awards Nominations Announced; Lap Chi Chu Among The Nominees
Professor Lap Chi Chu has been nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award in the category of outstanding lighting design for his work in the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Morning Sun, starring Edie Falco and Blair Brown. He is one of four members of the TFT community to be recognized by the Lortel Awards, which annually honor excellence in Off-Broadway theater. Other nominees include Hana S. Kim (MFA ’12) and Yee Eun Nam (MFA ’14), both outstanding projection design nominees for their work in The Visitor (The Public Theater) and Long Day’s Journey Into Night (Audible Theater), respectively. New to the awards this year is the category of outstanding ensemble. Ava Lalezarzadeh (BA ’20) is a nominee, along with her castmates, for their work in the Atlantic Theater Company production of English.
The 37th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for outstanding achievement Off-Broadway will take place Sunday, May 1 at NYU Skirball.
